whenever i catch a smile
i'd grabbed it in my arm
until it's wet & wrinkly
i'd throw it in my head
wait till it rots

wherever I go I'll carry my smile with me
it's convenient for facing people
it's convenient to save for explaining

but my arms sore
my head aches
my face rots
my mouth dries

If I let go I weep
I won't think at ease
I won't carry a grin when it rains
I won't speak when there's no word

that's what I know to survive now
that's all I can do to survive now
